Arsenal are reportedly preparing an opening offer of €40 million for RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the January transfer window.
The Gunners have identified the 21-year-old Norwegian international as a potential addition to their squad and are reportedly working on a bid to convince Leipzig to consider his departure. However, Arsenal are expected to face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who are also interested in securing the winger’s signature.
According to Fussball News, Arsenal are currently leading the race alongside Tottenham for Nusa, with the North London clubs closely monitoring his situation ahead of the winter transfer window.
Nusa has attracted attention for his pace, dribbling ability and attacking qualities, making him an appealing option for clubs looking to add creativity and directness to their forward lines. His ability to operate on the wings could provide Arteta with another attacking option as Arsenal continue to compete across multiple competitions.
Despite the growing interest, RB Leipzig are not keen on losing the Norwegian during the January transfer window. The Bundesliga club reportedly value the winger at between €60 million and €65 million and are only willing to consider an exceptional offer for his services.
Arsenal’s reported €40 million proposal would therefore fall significantly short of Leipzig’s valuation, meaning the Gunners may have to increase their offer if they are serious about bringing the youngster to the Emirates Stadium.
Tottenham’s interest could also make the situation more complicated, particularly with both clubs looking to strengthen their attacking departments. A potential battle between the two London rivals for Nusa’s signature could develop if their interest turns into formal offers.
For now, Arsenal are reportedly working on their opening bid, but Leipzig’s firm stance suggests that securing the winger’s services will not be straightforward.
With the January transfer window approaching, Nusa’s future is one to watch as Arsenal and Tottenham continue to be linked with the highly rated Norwegian.
