Manchester United have been urged to consider bringing in another attacking player as Mason Mount continues to struggle for consistency at Old Trafford.
Mount joined United from Chelsea in 2023 in a £60 million deal, arriving with plenty of expectations on his shoulders. He was seen as a player who could bring creativity, energy and attacking quality to the team.
However, things have not gone as smoothly as expected.
The midfielder has suffered a number of injury problems since moving to Manchester, making it difficult for him to establish a regular place in the team. Even when fit, he has struggled to maintain consistent performances.
Saha Questions United’s Options
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes the club could have strengthened their attacking options during the summer.
Saha feels United need another creative player who can operate behind the striker or play in an advanced midfield role and provide a different attacking threat.
The former France international also questioned whether Mount has shown that he can take responsibility during the biggest moments of a game, particularly when playing alongside Bruno Fernandes.

Saha added that although Mount is a good player and has been unfortunate with injuries, he does not see him as someone who can consistently change the course of a game when United are under pressure.
Mount’s Goalscoring Record
Mount’s goalscoring numbers have also been a talking point.
The midfielder has scored just five Premier League goals across the past three seasons, while his time on the sidelines has made it even harder for him to build any real consistency.
Still, Saha’s comments were not simply a criticism of Mount’s ability.
The former United striker acknowledged that injuries have played a major role in the midfielder’s struggles and maintained that Mount remains a talented footballer.
The bigger question, according to Saha, is whether United need another player who can create chances and take control of matches when the pressure is at its highest.
Mount Has a Chance to Respond
For Mount, the focus will now be on staying fit and getting a consistent run of games.
The midfielder will hope to convince Michael Carrick that he can still play an important role in his Manchester United side.
With competition for attacking positions at the club, Mount will need to make the most of his opportunities and show United fans exactly why the club spent £60 million to bring him to Old Trafford.
