Manchester United are reportedly willing to go as high as £119 million to sign Barcelona midfielder Fermín López. 👀
But the reported price tag isn’t the only thing that has caught attention.
United are said to be looking at Fermín as a potential long-term successor to Bruno Fernandes, which would make the move much bigger than simply adding another attacking midfielder to the squad.
Bruno is still United’s captain and one of their most important players, so replacing his creativity, energy and influence in the final third would be no easy task.
Fermín, however, has a different style. The young Spaniard is aggressive, technically gifted and has a real knack for making late runs into dangerous positions.
Still, £119 million is a massive fee.
That would be far beyond a move for squad depth. It would be a clear statement that Manchester United see Fermín as one of the players who could shape their midfield for years to come. 🔴👀
